Broyhill Furniture

Growing, changing, innovating.

Those are the qualities that have recognized Broyhill as America's favourite furniture maker. Rooted in a history that is rich and grounded in the belief that quality and value never go out of style, Broyhill is an organization that continues to lead the business in the current home furnishings.
Broyhill History
For more than a century, the name Broyhill has been synonymous with great-quality furniture. The directing power defining its products and the company consistently has been a dedication to worth and quality. Broyhill is among the most established brands in the business, now.
Broyhill Furniture started the same recognizable manner that hundreds of U.S. firms started: through the vision of one man, whose decision produced in the hills of North Carolina grown into a flourishing international business.

At age 21, Ed Broyhill sought an instruction to help transfer him from backbreaking work. He attended what's Appalachian State University. Back then, it was a marshy, little campus in Boone, N.C.
Drive and his dream led him to create his own business assembling bits, in 1926 that his brother did’t make. The result: The Lenoir Chair Co., which made its first upholstered seats in an old blacksmith and buggy store next to the Lenoir train depot.
Broyhill also shone with conventional layouts, although in the 1930s, modern pieces were the top lines. Despite the Great Depression, the brothers’ plants continued to grow and revealed a gain.
Ed Broyhill’s son, Paul, joined the company full time after then graduating from the University of North Carolina and serving in the Army in WW II. Under his direction, the firm constructed six million square feet of modern production facilities.
The Broyhills sought inspiration from many places. Girls’s jewelry affected drawer pulls in the 1940s and 1950s. The needs of postwar home led them to enlarge from drawers that are single to double and triple drawers.
Paul assembled the Broyhill brand name in the 1950s, becoming CEO and president in the early 1960s. The firm unveiled a sprawling showroom/headquarters in 1966 in Lenoir, N.C. A headline in one paper touted: “Furniture Business Has Its Own ‘Parthenon .
Sales doubled with Paul Broyhill’s direction on the average of every seven years. Broyhill was the biggest independently owned furniture manufacturer on the planet when the business was sold in 1980 to Interco. It made furniture ranges now sought online by collectors, like Broyhill Premier that was upscale, midcentury modern Brasilia, and French state Fontana, in addition to the long-running and still made Attic Heirlooms.
Broyhill started revealing its remarkable group at the new Vegas Furniture Market in 2005.
Now, Heritage Home Group brings a powerful dedication to its sister companies and Broyhill Furniture, attaining success through product innovation, exceptional craftsmanship, and investment in the finest folks in the business. From manufacturing to advertising, Broyhill continues its century-old tradition as an industry leader, setting the standard for the future and now.
